Last Friday we spent some time at the Fair. When Nathaniel woke up that morning, Jeff went into his room to get him and told him what we were doing. According to Jeff, the conversation went a little like this:
Jeff -"Good morning! We're going to have a fun day! Would you like to go to the Fair today?"
Nathaniel - "Yeah!"
Jeff - Would you like to eat fried food on a stick?"
Nathaniel - "Yeah!"
Jeff - Would you like to see some animals at the fair?"
Nathaniel - "Yeah!"
Jeff - "What kind of animals do you think we'll see?"
Nathaniel - "Uh... a Giraffe?"
Here are some highlights of our day:
Nathaniel's first Pronto Pup (for you non-Minnesotans, this is a hotdog encased in fried batter made with wheat instead of corn).

We didn't think we'd ever get Nathaniel away from these tractors!

Really big pumpkins! This was another one of Nathaniel's favorites. He loves veggies like no other toddler, and this room was full of extra large ones. We had to keep a careful eye on him - he tried to snatch a zucchini and a green bean for himself!

Sweet Martha's Cookies, always a favorite!

Taking a brief rest from all the fun.

I couldn't get Nathaniel to tear his eyes away from the amazing butter sculptures to pose for a picture. We're not sure if he was impressed or slightly traumatized!

Mary slept almost the whole time in the Baby Bjorn carrier. She'll get her fair share of fried food next year!

In the farm animal babies barn just before leaving. Nathaniel was so tired from missing his nap he had a small toddler meltdown because he didn't want to leave the baby duckies!

All the way back to the car, Nathaniel insisted "More fair, more fair!" I guess he didn't mind there were no giraffes milling around the fair grounds this year!

What? Are you saying county fairs don't have giraffes? Too cute!
What are Sweet Martha's cookies? That sounds like something I want to try!
